river inn phase ii

east little havana, fl

Professional:  2016 - Present

This phase of River Inn focuses on six buildings from the early 1950's.  My role on this project was both project manager and space planner.  The paint schemes for these charming two and three story buildings are inspired by the iconic pastel color palette Miami is so well known for.  The neighboring historic cottages are also painted pastel colors, however here the predominant color is white while the trims + detail are yellow, pink, blue, grey or green.  The art deco details throughout the buildings are all highlighted and celebrated.  Interiors were carried out by Sonder, the company currently operating the apartments as a hotel.

The landscaping is an integral part in connecting both halves of the property, as both the 1908 side and the 1950's side share the common areas.  Repetition in plant material and layering, in addition to the similar inverted paint schemes make the property feel cohesive.
