about

Amanda Bonvecchio is a licensed Architect and an accredited LEED GA based in Miami, FL. She is Co-Founder of Vagabond Architecture, a women owned Architecture Practice in South Florida.

She graduated with the Academic Excellence Award from the University of Miami school of Architecture where she earned a Master in Real Estate Development + Urbanism . Amanda also earned a Bachelor degree in Architecture with double minor in Business and Ecosystem Science + Policy from her Alma Mater.

For over nine years, Amanda has been working as an Architect in Miami. She is currently the Director of Design and Development at The Vagabond Group.  Amanda believes every project tells a story that can be told through the built environment. Together with developer Avra Jain, they have executed several projects including carefully renovating and preserving Miami's oldest hotel: The Miami River Inn into a cultural co-living destination in Little Havana.  In MiMo, Amanda also restored the 1957 Gold Dust Motel and several other projects from Historic Preservation to Adaptive Reuse.

Several projects later, as a Project Manager and in-house Architect, key elements of Amanda's leadership include dealing with all facets of the real estate development business - from financiers to subcontractors and from predevelopment to Interior Design.  Spawning a brand-new practical skill set that draws upon roots with deeply academic beginnings, Amanda has successfully completed several commercial and residential projects throughout Miami.

Amanda's diverse architectural skill is continually informed by her mixed heritage (Italian and French), passion for design of all kinds, and a long time love of the Golden Age cinema and music.  Her appreciation for architecture and historic preservation began when she started studying at Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, and took classes in the Historic El Jardin (1918) courtyard building. Her work is further nuanced by traveling and studying throughout the world.  Marrying new architectural elements with an educated respect of tradition has become a signature - woven throughout everything she does.

Though 3D software is now a crucial part of the design process, Amanda believes it all begins with a pencil to paper
